Hazard Mitigation Planning Meeting
The Kickapoo Department of Environmental Programs is leading a planning effort to update the tribes existing 2012 Hazard Mitigation Plan. We are inviting Kickapoo leaders, tribal members, employees and community members to participate with this plan development. We will be identifying hazards that may pose a risk to tribal members, property, environment, and economic structure of the Kickapoo Tribe.
The Hazard Mitigation Plan is a community based document that assess vulnerability to natural and man-made hazards and identifies resources to reduce this vulnerability. Updating this plan will allow the tribe to apply for funding through grant programs, identify projects to reduce risk, and request assistance or reimbursement from declared disasters. We encourage all those who wish to participate to attend our meeting. This meeting will give us the foundation of the process we will be utilizing to complete this project. If you have any questions please feel free to contact our office.
